Posted 3 months ago A school boards in Georgia just passed a law allowing teachers, with parental permission, to use paddling and other corporal punishment to curb student misbehavior. | Posted 3 months ago It's one of those issues where I could only say that I'd have to be in the moment. I really would hope that I wouldn't have to. I do know that I wouldn't want my children to deal with this. I received corporal punishment as a young child, though. At the time, I'd rather have my mom and dad spank me. | Posted 3 months ago In Loco Parentis I think its best decided at home and should not be used in schools. I can imagine there are situations that I have not imagined where it might be appropriate but with rare exception I would not support it nor would I use it. |

| Posted 3 months ago Nope - coporal punishment is not only ineffective, it teaches students that physical force is the socially accepted method of dealing with inappropriate behavior. Johnny, if you hit Michael again, I'm going to paddle you.
Umm, anyone else see anything contradictory there? |
